The entrance exam will have 100 questions in total in the form of MCQs. The exam will be for a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The syllabus for the entrance exam is based on the syllabus of B.Sc Chemistry. 10% of the questions will be asked from the 1st year, 10% from the 2nd year and 80% of the questions will be asked from the 3rd year. When preparing the merit list, 50% weightage is given to the entrance exam results and 50% weightage is given to the marks scored in 3rd year B.Sc. This is for in house candidates. The eligibility criteria for pursuing M.Sc Chemistry is that the candidates should have passed B. Sc degree in Chemistry from Shivaji University or from any statutory university, Institution in India or abroad with at least 55% marks. In addition, the candidate should have had Chemistry as one of the main subjects at B.Sc. Course.
For the admissions to the M.Sc course, the candidates need to appear for a Common Entrance Test ( CET ). The exam consists of 100 MCQ questions of 100 marks without negative marking and the duration of the examination is 90 minutes. The candidates need to apply online for the test. The merit list is displayed online and the candidates are given admissions on the merit basis.
