Hello,

COVID-19 or the Coronavirus disease 2019 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus and was identified for the first time in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared it as a pandemic in March 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic has been considered to be the greatest challenge faced by humankind since World War Two. The pandemic has impacted the economy, and despite being a health crisis, it's also an unprecedented socio-economic crisis.

Some of the common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. While in the more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death. More than 2 million deaths have been recorded and near to 100 million cases have been reported so far. T

Some recommendations were given by the  WHO to prevent infection spread and these include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, avoiding close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

As of January 2021, nine vaccines have been authorized for public use and many countries have implemented phased distribution plans of these vaccines.

Good Luck

Hello aspirant

This virus came into light in December, 2019.Since then, more than 5000 were affected due to COVID-19 across the world. Cases have been reported from more than 80 countries, including India. The virus has acquired the ability to spread among humans, with cases of human-to-human transmission being reported first in Vietnam and Germany.

Corona virus mainly spreads through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The infected people will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, are more likely to develop serious illness.

To protect from this virus, always wear masks at public places. Wash your hands with sainitizers.

Hope this helps. All the best.
