ECE is definitely a good choice when compared to IT as it has got a higher and wider range of opportunities as well as a bright career prospects.
Pursuing M.tech in ECE really helps a lot in finding you the finest of the jobs and the most niche projects with high salary and perks and if you do your specialization in branches like VLSI it will be great for your career
Apart from these the number of government jobs are more for ECE students compared to IT.
Most importantly IT students will be confined to 9-5 jobs and will have less oppportunity to persue other career options. ECE will have awide range of oppotunitites for you!
