Dear Aspirant,

Both the Institutes are good and kinda pretty neck to neck in several aspects of an engineering institute.

Punjab Engineering College is the older established Institute than NIT Hamirpur. In terms of placement prospects, the average package offered by PEC is slightly better than that of NIT Hamirpur. The average salary offered by companies in PEC is 7 lakhs whereas in NIT Hamirpur, it is 6.5 lakhs. PEC, Chandigarh has a higher NIRF rank than that of NIT Hamirpur. It also offers wifi facility in its campus which is absent in NIT HAMIRPUR.

The positives in NIT Hamirpur is that it has lower fee structure as compared to PEC. It has greater intake of students every year for engineering and also has a greater number of astute faculty members teaching in the institute to many students. The cutoff mark for NIT Hamirpur is above 6000 whereas for PEC Chandigarh, it is close to 3500. Therefore, it is comparatively easier to get admission in NIT Hamirpur than in PEC Chandigarh.
