Hello,

You should go for GATE preparation if you want to pursue MTech in India or land a government job in a PSU. On the other hand, if you want to pursue a research-oriented career in civil engineering or want to be able to avail greater opportunities from the international job market then you should opt for a Masters in Science or MS abroad.

The top universities which offer MS programs in Civil and Structural Engineering in Australia along with the indicative (subject to change) annual tuition fee are:

  • The University of Sydney (AUD $35,000)
  • The University of Melbourne (AUD $41,344)
  • Monash University (AUD $38,850.00)
  • The University of Western Australia (AUD $39,800)
  • The University of Queensland (AUD $ 42,768)

Additionally, an MS in Australia is a good option if you want to change your area of expertise to something other than Civil engineering.
