Hi Vivek Dhiman,
I feel that I would be able to tell you the correct aspects about the life of a seamen as i am also from this field.
I definately feel that one should be joining as a GME as-
You could complete GME training at Anglo-Eastern by spending 5 Lakhs and earn abt 50K per month while onboard ship training for a year. You could save all this money for examination since you are provided free accommodation, food, work clothing , travel etc . After 10 years of work you could be earning 6 Lakhs per Month with all free facilities and no taxes. This is saving potential of 48 Lakhs per year, with 4 months of tension free holiday. To reach this level in any other job you will need to earn about 1 crore per year minus 33 Lakhs as tax , minus 12 lakhs for rent , food , travel to office etc and 1 month of holiday.
The fees for the course as above mentioned is 5 lakh.
The placement of a cadet who joins this course is completely secured and a 100% fail proof.
Now about the life in merchant navy-
Life of a mariner is one of the toughest life as-
Pros-
Cons-
Their is always a better side and the bas side to everything but I would still recommend you the GME course as merchant navy tells you the way to live like a man and makes you highly knowleeable and compitent and ready for the worst situations possible.
I hope I was able to answer the question
I would like to solve any dobts which you still might have with you in the comments section.
Cheers and all the best and hope to see you onboard this journey!

The life in Merchant Navy is good very much lucrative as you get a chance to visit many countries and get to know different cultures but at the same time you have to be mentally and physically strong because working on ship is not that easy some days you have to work around 18 to 24 hours without sleep. And also you have to stay away from your home and family for months. So, it has both pros and cons. Now it's up to you.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any query.
