If you are interested in coding and you are getting CSE at NIT Trichy  then you should choose CSE at NIT Trichy over metallurgy at IIT Madras. NIT Trichy is one of the top NIT'S all over the country. According to me CSE at NIT Trichy is better than metallurgy at IIT Madras.



Don't listen to people , decide by yourself because at the end of the story it's you who would be responsible , not the people.

The courses you have mentioned are very different from eachother, If you're interested in coding and getting CSE at NIT Tirchy then you should definitely go for CSE. NIT Tirchy is a prestigious institute and in ranking it's even ahead of some of the IITs. The CS branch of NIT Tirchy is known for it's eminent academics and placements records. I wouldn't suggest you to join IIT that too a department you're not interested in just for that 'IITian' tag.
