Hello Vani,
Reading a newspaper is a useful and very effective method for any competetive exam aspirant to increase their general knowledge and also improve their vocabulary and reading skills. For that I would recommend you some of the best english newspapers in the country like: The Hindu, The Indian Express, The telegraph, The Pioneer etc.Instead of reading the whole newspaper, I would advise you to try and identify which news and articles are helpful. Sometimes you may not find a particular article interesting but it might be important. You should start by reading all the headings and try to skim over the not so useful parts but try to read in detail about the topics which you feel are a must. It is very important to read the editorials and opinion articles because these are concerned with the important issues going on in the country and the world. To improve vocabulary, you should maintain a notebook where you can write down new words you come across and revise them regularly.
