NCERT books are great for clearing basic concepts especially for subjects like biology so yes you need to go through ncert well for your neet examination as large number of questions are directly asked from ncert in neet  but neet is a national level entrance examination and is quite tough to crack, and for that ncert is not completely sufficient, you need to go through some extra books as well if you want to get good marks in neet and get into government medical college, I am listing you few books you should go through in addition to ncert for your neet preparation :-

PHYSICS :-

• Concepts of Physics by H. C. Verma
• Objective Physics By DC Pandey

CHEMISTRY "-

• Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon
• ABC of Chemistry for Classes 11 and 12 by Modern
• Practise books by VK Jaiswal (Inorganic), MS Chauhan (Organic)

• BIOLOGY :'
• For biology ncert is great but to clear concepts you can go through Biology Vol 1 and Vol 2 by Trueman as well

NEET has 180 questions. 45 MCQs from Physics, 45 from Chemistry and 90 from Biology. Now, the syllabus for NEET is that of 12th's. So it only makes it meaningful to ask questions from NCERT books because these are the books approved by the Education Ministry. Now out of 180 questions as many as 150-160 questions are asked from NCERT. The remaining questions come from a different set of books. Having said that the principle involved in the answer is still associated with what you have learnt from NCERT. Now the books available in the market help you for a detailed and time bound preparation. These books convert the theory part to comprehensive material making it easy to prepare from.
