According to previous year's result you may got government college in UP for polytechnic but not in cities like lucknow , gorakhpur, varansi Or in major cities
You got college in small village like unnao barabanki etc.

Based on the previous year JEECUP cutoff, in order to get core branches you have to get a rank below 5000 in JEECUP. But if you want to get some decent branches, then 7-8K rank in JEECUP can also get you with some good Government colleges. So, with your above mentioned rank in JEECUp, you have some decent chances of getting Government colleges.
