Since the second round of nata is being conducted in july, when will the architechture colleges start the batch?
Hi Siddhi,
Until the last academic session, COA didn’t conduct any counseling of its own apart from conducting NATA 2019, the qualifying exam for admission to B.Arch courses. However, at a press conference held in October 2018, the President of the Council, Vijay Garg proposed to have a common NATA 2019 counseling for admission to B.Arch courses in participating institutes.
If the proposal goes through, and national-level common counseling of NATA 2019 is conducted, the ultimate beneficiary is likely to be the candidates. In the current scheme, candidates need to apply separately to each participating institute they are desirous of admission. Consequently, there is a lot of hectic traveling involved, putting candidates under constant strain.
The national-level counseling also is an effort to stop the wastage of seats in institutes, where every year many seats go vacant. The plan now offers vacant seats, if left unfilled even after accommodating all the local candidates, will be offered to other state candidates.
In July there will be a second round of NATA 2019 and its result will be declared on 21 July 2019. So, most probably the colleges and batches will commence in one month prior to the counseling.
