It depends on the college, if college has its own placement unit or offers on campus placements then you can appear in the interviews of the recruiting companies. And if your college doesn't offer any placement opportunities then you need to apply yourself, it is called off-campus placements. Also, it depends on the student's skill as well, there are many students which do not get placed by the college even if the college offers the placement opportunities. So, candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria of getting placed.
