Assuming your query is about JoSAA Counselling.Firstly, get clear about the terms Freeze, Float and Slide.

Freeze Option means you are content with the seat allocated and you accepts it and you are not interested in participating in further rounds of seat allocation. If you choose Freeze option then you would not be considered in further rounds of seat allotment.

Float Option means that you accept the offered seat and wants to opt for a seat   in  an  academic program of  higher   preference in  any Institute if offered in the subsequent rounds. If you does not get a seat  in a higher preference program, you  will continue with  the currently accepted academic program.
And you will be considered in subsequent rounds of seat allotment.

Slide Option means that you accept the offered seat and you want to opt for a seat in an academic program of higher preference within the same institute if offered in subsequent rounds. After selecting this option, you will be considered in subsequent rounds of seat allotment.

So, if you are alloted a seat in 4th round and you are happy with it and you are not interested in participating then you can freeze it before the 5th round or you can choose float or Slide option.
