Hello,
Anyone who appears for FATE exam and qualify for it becomes eligible for GATE stipend.
Irrespective of any IIT/NIT/IISER/IISc etc. or any other institute of national importance, one needs to qualify the cutoff for GATE exam in the respective stream to avail the stipend of 12400 Rs per month to pursue M.Tech. For example, even if the cutoff for a particular subject in GATE is as low as 25 or say 30, for General Category, the particular student on clearing the cutoff marks will be eligible to avail the stipend of 12400 Rs for a duration of 2 years to study M.Tech at any Private or Government University(need not compulsorily be an IIT /NIT /IISER /IISc etc or any other institute of national importance ) in India which is AICTE approved.
