Dear Amal,

You can definitely participate and since the last date is August 16, 2018, you should and see if you are allotted a seat in AIIMS, as the counselling of AIIMS and AIQ do not have any connection. Now, about the documents.

As per the present rules of AIIMS MBBS admissions, in case you will be allotted a college and  you decide to take it up, you will be required to submit your original documents OR DD (of 1 Lakh) in the name of the allotted AIIMS along with photocopies of certificates. This DD will be refunded when original certificates are deposited within 5 days of taking the admission. If you do not submit originals within 5 days of taking the admission, the DD amount will be forfeitted.

So, you can contact your present institution in which you have taken admission under AIQ and ask them as to by when they can give you your original documents in case you take the admission back. If you think you can produce the original documents (as per the talks with your present institution) within time, then you can withdraw your admission from AIQ allotted institution. However, you should note that you will NOT be refunded the AIQ counselling fees and might not be refunded the admission fee when you withdraw admission allotted under AIQ.

I would suggest you to have a talk with your presently allotted institution as to by when they can provide you with the certificates and what all you will be loosing on as to the amount of money already paid, etc. In the meanwhile register for the open counselling of AIIMS, since the last date is August 16, 2018. In case your presently allotted institution says that they can provide you with the documents in less than 4 days of making the request, you can particiapte in AIIMS Open counselling with a DD and in case you are allotted a seat in your desired institution, you can make a request to your present institution.

Hope it answers.

All the best!

Also Amal, I would like to state at this point that going by AIQ admission rules, if you have reported and submitted your documents then after joining in 2nd Round of All India Quota Counselling (AIQ) you will not be allowed to resign/leave the seat. Now just as a last resort, you can talk to your individual allotted college if or not they can take your resignation from the seat and give your documents back to you. If they do, in all likelihood you will not be given back your counselling fee and admission fee amount.
