If you're attempting 2017 CAT then 9 hours a day is must alongwith 10mock exams atleast before you appear for final CAT 2017.
If your target is 2018, you have almost an year in hand.
Daily 5hours is must and solvibg small mock exams on section where you're weak is the key to success.
With practice youll become sharper.
For achieveing accuracy in CAT, you can give different mock tests from TestFunda, Oliveboard, HitbullsEye, etc.

When you give mock, make sure you do indepth root analysis of mistakes you make and check whether yhe approach you make is coreect, whether there is another approach which saves time. Make sure you jot down all such mistakes to not repeat them again. You need to check which is area of weakness and why are you scoribg negative. Check how much time you devote on average. Then focus on those areas more, try to sokve multiple problems on your weak areas through different books like Arun Sharma, Nishit Sinha, TIME Coaching material. Give more mocks on it and eventually you'll optimize mistakes and achieve better accuracy ratio.

For preparing to get in CAT you need to give atleast 3-4 hours daily when you are starting to study. You need to be strong in your basics becuase CAT exam is all a game of speed with accuracy.

Anyhow there is no fixed time limit for preparations as it varies from student to student. It depends on you how quickly you are able to finish the basic score with holding all the concepts strongly.

What matters most in CAT preparations is the Mick test. You need to continually gives mock test and then analyse whole paper to know your strength and weakness. This will help you in developing a strategy for your final exams also decrease your no. Of mistakes. If you are not analysing your mock paper then you won't be able to improve your marks, percentile and will be stuck with the same marks till final exam.

So instead of worrying about time start working on your basics.

All the best!!

You are not happy with the answer I gave you for your above question? What else you want to know? You have downvoted my answer.

The time for preparations I mentioned is your personal time given other than coaching. If you start going to coaching then there will be almost a year preparation which will be emouth and they even have their own test series for you to practice for final exam.

CAT and TIME are best coaching for preparing MBA.
