Dear Gowtham, we have Government, Private, Cemtral, Deemed Medical Colleges which conduct admissions under NEET. These seats are filled through either All India Counselling confucted by DGHS and State Counselling conducted by respective State Authorities.

Under All India Quota, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC are filled by DGHS.

The 85% State Quota and Private Colleges are filled by the respective State Authorities. And there are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. And only candidates of the home State are eligible to apply for these seats. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through Management Quota counselling and the left over seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly. Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that.

Hi Gowtham,

After NEET results are declared, the counselling process starts. The centralised counselling conducted at mcc.nic.in is mainly for 15% ALL INDIA QUOTA SEATS, CENTRAL UNIVERSITIES, DEEMED UNIVERSITIES and ESIC seats.

There are generally two rounds of online counselling for the 15% AIQ seats. After which if seats aate vacant those are reverted to the 85% state quota seats in respective states.

There is a third round of counselling or Mop up round for CENTRAL, DEEMED AND ESIC seats.

85% state quota counselling is conducted by respective states according to schedule. Different States have different eligibilty criteria. The general condition is that you need to be domiciled for a particular state for which you’ll do the 85% state quota counselling.

Other type of counselling is for AYUSH courses. It is also centralised.
