Some lesser known advantages of mineral and metallurgical engineering  from IIT Dhanbad-

1. You will get an IIT degree without much effort. Without much effort here means you have to attend very less lectures as compared to other branches and syllabus is also very easy .you can manage to get good cgpa by just studying 8–10 hours per semester for one subject.

2 .As you will get much free time during college so you can prepare for any other exam like upsc, cat , gre etc or you can do coding.

3. You will get to know that most of your batchmates are not interested in Mineral related industry so you will have less competition for placement. If you have good communication skill and 8 cgpa( very easy to get) then your placement is sure.( even very less companies are coming these days for mineral engineers.)

4. You will enjoy college life more than others.
