I would say placements are neither good nor bad at Calcutta University. The companies that come to the college offer minimum packages and number of students absorbed is less. Though many students get placed in off-campus placement drives. The placement cell is not that much active. Most of the time it's the student's capacity to get a job.
Coming to internships, most of the time don't expect a stipend. Many big names come to campus for that matter. Professors often help in getting those internships. It is a learning opportunity for students.
It is up to you whether you want to take admission or not.
