sir i am a girl after BE graduation what kind of exams for navy? how can i prepare for that exams?
Dear Geetha
All in all, there roughly four entry points to join Indian Navy- one being NDA or NA (NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY & NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION), second being CDS (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION), third is direct entry route, and final being admission through University Entry Scheme.
-
As stated by you that you are a graduate or in your graduation, NDA/NA entry route is not plausible since there is an age limit of 19.5 years.
-
You can appear for CDS Examination conducted by UPSC. The age limit to join Indian Naval Academy through CDS is 24 years. Besides that, as per other eligibility criteria, you should be and must hold an engineering degree from a recognized or institution. You can find more details on CDS examination on the link of Careers360 article given below. The application for the exam starts roughly in the month of November. After clearing CDS exam, you will need to appear for SSB (Service Selection Board) interview and medical test conducted by Navy. This exam is open for both males and females.
-
Direct Entry Route includes the positions/vacancies put open by Indian Navy as per their requirements. They can include Permanent Commission entry (that is valid till retirement) or Short Service (SSC) entry. You can track them through the official website of Join Indian Navy (https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in), or through Employment News. Some of these positions might be put open to males only, while others are open to both male and female genders.
-
University Entry Scheme is conducted once a year in which various teams from Navy visit different technical colleges across India for Campus Interview (CI). Candidates in their 7th semester who secure a minimum of 60% up to the fifth term, are graded as per their performance during the CI by SSB. Then qualified candidates undergo the medical examination and if found fit, inducted in the Indian Navy on the basis of All India Merit. The branches on offer for UES includes Technical (Engineering, Electrical and Naval Architecture), Executive (Pilot, Observer, Logistics, General Service and Information Technology), Aviation Technical (E/L) and Submarine (E/L). The notification for the same is generally published in the month of Jun/Jul.
You can explore the official link given below for more information on the selection procedure. Also given is the Careers360 article link for CDS examination which will be updated as soon as the notification for 2018 is released by UPSC.
