sir, I am a student of BBA 1st year and i wanna prepare for CAT. So please, let me know about the syllabus of CAT. I passed my Entermidiate from commerce sector.
Dear Aspirant,
If there is one thing fixed about the CAT, it’s the fact that it is dynamic. Over the years, it has been classified into three wide sections namely Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. On the surface the syllabus for the VARC section is basically Reading Comprehension and a few Verbal Ability questions like para jumbles, summary, grammar, sentence correction etc. The common questions in the DILR section is mostly data interpretation questions like bars, charts, venn diagrams etc. and logical reasoning questions like tournaments, seating arrangement etc. The broad topics covered in the QA section are arithmetic, geometry & mensuration, modern math, numbers etc.
While for most of the case the concepts are from a 12 th standard text book at the most, it is the application and identifying and tackling the right question that is the challenge. You can treat the below list as a comprehensive, but not exhaustive list of topics as it is a very dynamic exam.
Quantitative Aptitude
Number System, Profit and Loss, LCM and HCF, Speed, Time and Distance, Percentages, Time and Work, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Quadratic Equations and Linear Equations, Complex Numbers, Simple and Compound Interest, Logarithm, Sequence and Series, Inequalities, Probability, Surds and Indices, Set theory and Function, Permutation and combination, Mixtures and Allegations, Trigonometry, Coordinate Geometry, Geometry, Mensuration
DILR
