Hi,
To get admission in an Engineering college, you are required to attempt and clear an entrance test. Depending on where you want to get admission, there are different exams like JEE MAIN, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, GATE, VITEEE, etc.

You will get a Lateral entry into the second year of engineering. Entrance exams are the common procedure to get into an engineeirng college. Regional government colleges and private colleges consider state entrance exams to prepare merit, while autonomous institutes and deemed universities conduct their own exams.
