Sorry to dishearten you. Not possible if you want good branch. The closing rank even for category is given on the basis of GMR/PMR that is General Merit Rank.So suppose you are a general candidate, to get CSE in Jadavpur University the closing rank was (GMR rank 153) in 2017. But if you are a OBC-NCL category the closing rank required was GMR 784(general merit rank not your obc rank )

Dear Imanur,

As per last year cutoff of jadavpur University for Machanical engineering you will not get admission in jadavpur University even in OBC-A category.

But you can get admission in chemical engineering and electronics and instrumentation engineering in jadavpur University.
