1. Before trying to understand how to start preparing for UPSC at home, you should prepare yourself for the journey.

2.To become an IAS officer  , it is necessary to be like an officer with a well-organized daily routine.

3.The syllabus is the soul of any exam. Knowing the syllabus is the foremost thing to do before you go through the books.

4.The newspapers are the most important aspect of the IAS exam.

5.The NCERT textbooks from classes six to twelve play a very significant role in IAS exam preparation.

6.It is helpful to make short notes during UPSC preparation.

Hey dear, it is good to see you dream becoming an IAS officer. Since, you are in 11th class and there is lot to study in your 11th and 12th so first of fall you need to have a routine for your preparation considering the importance of board exams too. So, you start with geography ,history and polity now onwards and make it a strong part of your preparation, side by side prepare your english part too twice a week. If you follow and complete this routine till your graduation final year, it will be very easy for you to crack the exam.
