Good career choice, as hotel management is an emerging sector in india and there will be lot of opportunities in futute in this sector. Yes there are more than 200 government colleges which provide courses of hotel management and catering. There is a national council for hotel management which conducts the exam NCHMCT- JEE. This exam score is accepted by most of the government colleges which provide hotel management courses.
