Hello Shiuli,

I really don't want to demotivate you, but believe me, unless you apply for study abroad or in certain exams(like cat), the value of your marks in class 10 tends to 0 (don't be demotivated).

Actually the truth is, their is a huge difference between study methodology for class 12 exams and class 10 exams.

In 10th whether you believe or not, 2 month harcore study is enough to score above 90%, but things are not alike in 12th, you need atleast 6 months of medium core study, for expecting the same results. On top of it, jee exams are highy prestigious exams of India. Even Jee Advanced is ranked among top 3 most difficult exams of the world. It has nothing to do with your performance in class 10. So all depends on what you prepare in class 11 and 12.

Your hardwork during class 12 are what that matters. People are not able to qualify even after taking 2 years of drop, they put  their heart and soul, still they fail. Even all india toppers, in class 10th are not the toppers of JEE. This is because the level of preparation required is uncomparable.

Hope this helps

Regards.

Hey Shiuli, That all depends on how much time you are left with and how much you want to score. You will have to frame a strategy from yourself.Suppose if you have just 1 week left for your JEE, I would suggest you go through important formulae, derivations, and facts. Along with this, subscribe to any good test paper series. Remember for last time, whether it may be an exam, the best approach is to practise, practise and practise that to from relevant sources. So try solving previous year papers. And solve till you get 100% marks in that particular paper. Learn from your mistakes, note them so that you may not repeat, and go through the concepts, that you think need revision. Self-introspection is must, accept your mistakes, and try again... This applies to both Boards and JEENow suppose if you are left with more than a week, the extra time can be devoted to developing concepts and practising from supplementary books. There is a good list of available books for any exam you want to prepare for. For JEE I would suggest you go through some good coaching materials, as they provide you with specific and targeted material. Solving a new text-book, will create pressure and eat up your time. Now suppose you are left with a month or so, then its time to revise the whole syllabus again and find out weak points in your preparation. Find out where you lag, and practise important topics. Solving good mathematics problems will always boost your confidence. Try having a practical approach. Identify what topics, you require more practise and complete them till last week, so as to implement the above-mentioned strategy. Now suppose if you have a year, then it would be advisable to frame your own strategy. Try forming a good study plan, as to what topics require more practice. Now you should definitely go for good supplement books. Such as R.D. Sharma for Mathematics, H.C. Verma for Physics, and so on. These are for JEE main, but you should discover the ideal books for the exam you are preparing for. Apart from that, you may also subscribe to some good coaching material. For high school there is nothing better than the prescribed text-books, the more you deviate from them, the more confusion will arise. So try following them.Managing both at a time is an art. You will have to divide your week into parts and devote some parts to JEE(competitive exam) while some parts to school. Remember you'll have to sacrifice, but the reward will be worth.Go for smart work, not hard work.So that was my point of view. Sorry for replying late.Hope this helpsRegards.

Hii Shiuli,

yes of course you can crack JEE main and Advance both.

if you are now in class 12th then I suggest you to start reading from now.

First of all go throughly the NCERT books(Physics and Chemistry).

and then once solve a last year question paper.and find out where you are lacking??

and then you will notice that you need to solve numerical problem .and then solve numericals from your favourite book as much as you can.

here I am enlisting some book name-

Physical Chemistry Books

  • P.W. Atkins
  • Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon-
  • Modern Approach to Chemical Calculations by R.C. Mukherjee

Organic Chemistry Books

  • O.P. Tandon Organic Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry by Paula Bruice Yurkanis
  • Organic Chemistry by M.S. Chuahan
  • Organic Chemistry by Morrison & Boyd

Inorganic Chemistry Books

  • J.D Lee
  • O P Tandon Inorganic Chemistry

Physics Books for JEE Advanced Preparation-

  • Concepts of Physics by H C Verma (Vol-1 and Vol-2)
  • IIT JEE Physics by Arihant (35 years Chapterwise Solved Papers 2013-1979)
  • Fundamentals of Physics by David Halliday/Resnick/Walker

Mathematics Books for JEE Advanced Preparation-

  • Objective Mathematics By R.D. Sharma
  • Plane Trigonometry and Coordinate Geometry (Two Books) by S.L Loney
  • Problems in Calculus Of One Variable by I.A.Maron
  • Hall and Knight Higher Algebra
  • Integral Calculus for IIT-JEE by Amit M Agarwal (Arihant Publications)
  • Differential Calculus for IIT-JEE by Amit M Agarwal (By Arihant Publications)
  • A Text Book of Algebra For JEE Main & Advanced by Dr. SK Goyal (Arihant Publications)

Hi,

First of all, even though the 10th standard marks do not matter, but you have got a good percentage (80+). You must have also given your 12th board examinations by now. Now coming to the question of clearing JEE Mains and Advanced, if you have studied properly till date, then there is no need to worry, just give your best in the exams. In these last few days, revise whatever you have learnt and practiced, please do not try to learn any new concepts. Give a few mocks and revise all formulae. Finally, relax the day before the exam and keep your cool during the exam.

Best wishes.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hey Shiuli.

See cracking any type of engineering entrance exam u must be having a good hold on the time management part of the exam. U should be focussing on the formulas and should be making a good note of that. U must be clearing ur basics in the physics and chemistry because that's only the key to master it. At last u should practice an lot of unsolved papers to judge ur time management.

Hope u got ur point. Ask if any query.

Good luck
