As you said, you can get 83%ile in JEE Mains and asking for NIT.
I want to tell you that surely you can get NIT, but if you are dreaming for the good NITs According to ranking and with better stream also, it will not be possible.
You will get some lower branches like Chemical Engineering, Mining etc. in some NITs.
With this much percentile, your rank will be between 180000-210000.
If you are asking for NITs, then you are eligible in some NITs, which I am mentioning but lower branches only:
1.) NIT Agartala
2.) NIT Assam
3.) NIT Jammu & Kashmir
In such NITs, You will only be able to get the seat and surely your rank there also comes in between Round 5 to 8 of counselling. So, you have hard luck this time.
Instead of thinking all these, you can prefer some of the top Private Colleges too, in which you will definitely get a lot of future scope and overall records are also good.
I am mentioning the link, kindly go through it and search for the colleges you are eligible for and search for other top Private Colleges too like VIT, Manipal, BITS etc. :
