Hello

I am guessing that you have studied Biology as an additional subject in your class 12th board examination itself  and not after passing your 12th later on.

Yes, yes you are eligible for pursuing MBBS even if you have Biology as an additional /optional subject in your class 12 board examination and can take admission abroad

This is because,

The eligibility of students with Biology as an additional / optional subject in 12th board is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

* Qualification required :- As per Neet 2021 eligibility to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th board examination 2021 or should have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

Important Note :- Students who have passed 12th board examination with Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement.

* Percentage required :- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

* Age limit :-to be eligible for neet 2021 one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December 2021, no age limit as of now.

So, if you fulfill this Criteria then you are eligible for Neet examination and after qualifying neet you can get admission in MBBS as well.

For detailed information about neet examination eligibility go through our page for which link is provided below; -

If I tell you about codes,

Then you need to choose code 2 , as code 2 is for those who have already passed 12th.

Thank you

shaik sundaragiri md wassim Hi

To help you further, I decided to contact NTA myself, I had called them, and they confirmed that students with biology as additional subject are eligible even if you have passed it after 12th as a single subject from nios or any other recognised board.
