Trust me when I say this 1. The classes are thought my lecturers and not professors. You must be under the impression that this university has the best professors and there really are good professors, but they will never teach you. Hardly 10% of all the subjects you undergo in 4 years are taught by them. The rest are done by lecturers who are hardly a few years elder to you. 2. With new courses being introduced each year, like IDP(which is mine), IDDMP, IIDDMP, the quality of education is being compromised. Long gone are the days when only 60 students would study in each department and make use of all the resources. Now there are close to 250 students in each department and hence the infrastructure is not able to support them. 3. You have good placements if you join the regular 4 year Btech course, but the 5 year course has less opportunities than the rest. Overall the placements are good, but then for the past few years CBIT is not far behind in placements either. There are many good companies which visit CBIT and not JNTU. Better have enough data about the placements in the both these institutions before making your decision. It's a very big factor, as afterall, placements are what seperate these two premiers from other engg colleges. 4. If you are more of an outside person, then JNTU is better suited for you as its in the midst of the city unlike CBIT. Ample things to do outside campus and the places to visit never dry up. 5. Transport in not provided in JNTU so that is a backdraw. It might not a seem an important factor now, but then it will have a huge impact when you have to find your transport for 4 long years. 6. I do not know about the labs in CBIT but then ones in JNTU are satisfactory. They are not state of the art, but then they are not too bad either. Well ,these are some of the points I wanted to make, if you have any more queries, feel free to get in touch. Hope this was helpful. Make the right decision and all the best.
