The competition keeps increasing by the day and hence the required score keeps increasing for getting into high ranked universities like NITs. Since you have not mentioned the course you intend to take I would say that there are some lower ranked universities into some of the newer NITs such as NIT Agartala, NIT Pondicherry or NIT Andhra Pradesh.
