Dear Aspirant,
Let me inform you about the method prescribed by NTA or National Testing Agency for calculating percentile of students appearing JEE MAINS.
The percentile calculated is different from percentage of marks scored.
Percentile is calculated based on shift wise or session wise i.e. it depends on the shift- morning, afternoon or evening (Jab aap exam Dene Gaye the).
METHOD:
Percentile= (Number of students who scored less than you in yourshift/Total number of students who appeared in your shift)*100
So, I hope now you have understood how percentile is calculated for Jee Mains Students.
As far as qualifying for Jee Advanced is concerned,
you need to cross the passing marks set for your category (general, obc ,SC,St,etc.)
Hope this information finds some usefulness to you.
