According to 2018 general merit cutoffs of COMEDK, with a rank of 18k, it seems pretty difficult for you to get ECE at BMS Institute of Technology as the cutoff rank for ECE at the end of extended round 2 was 11755. For mechanical, you may get it at the end of round 1 itself, and if not, then you will certainly get it till the last rounds as the final cutoff rank for Mechanical engineering was 28113, so you have high chances of getting mechanical engineering at BMS Institute of Technology.

The data for closing rank of first round of counselling if comedK is unavailable as the official website puts out the closing rank only after 2nd round of counselling
The last year closing rank for BMS institute in mechanical after 2nd round of counselling was 28113.
