Hello Suken,
JEE Main syllabus is based on class 11th & 12th mostly so if you are well prepared with your 10+2, It will help you to cover the exam syllabus easily. To prepare the Exam I would suggest you to go through well with NCERT books, It will help you build your basic concept.
Here are also some preparation tips which can be helpful for you in Exam preparation.
Work on a Time Table : After carefully checking the syllabus of the exam towards creating a perfect timetable which will fit your schedule while leaving enough time to prepare for the examination within the days left.
Devide & Segregate the JEE Main Syllabus: The topics from the Exam syllabus must be divided into easy, tough and very tough so that preparation of the exam is made accordingly.
Make your Basic Concepts Strong : While it is essential to study the topics mentioned in the official syllabus, it is also advised to study the basic concepts well first. By knowing the basic concepts of the units involved in the examination, you will be able to understand each topics well and in depth. This will result in a greater understanding of the topics and will make it simpler for you to study complicated concepts present in the syllabus.
Improve your Weak Points : Stressed over some topics or formulas which you just cannot seem to understand? Give more time and focus on these topics to improve it. Keep small notes and constantly revise those concepts which has been hard to understand. By constantly studying the topics you find difficult.
Attempt Mock Test and Solve Sample Papers : Mock tests will give you an almost real experience of how the examination will be. By solving mock tests, you will be able to work on time management while at the same time understanding the question paper pattern.
Revision : While studying it is important to revise those topics which has already been studied. It is advised that each day, a certain amount of time should be divided for revision purposes.

Hey Aspirant,
As you said. Even if you prepare for boards and focus only on NCERT still then you could score well in JEE mains. But for scoring well your class 11th syllabus plays a vital role. So while preparing for JEE Mains you should focus on your 11th syllabus also. Just focus on NCERT and solve previous year questions.
Best of luck
I will suggest you to join any coaching institution which is specifically for jee mains and advance. If you prepare for jee mains and advance then your 10+2 will become easy on it's own. But if you study only at the level of 12th than it will get very difficult for you to crack jee mains and advance exam. Because there is a tough competition and lakhs of students are preparing specifically for this exam.
All the best
