Hello Aspirant,

See the candidates having more than 40% of vision disability are not eligible for admission to medical courses but there is a case in which they can be considered as eligible for NEET UG and admission to medical courses. The condition is that if the disability of vision can be bring down to near benchmark percentage of 40% using advanced low vision aids then the candidate would be eligible for admission to medical courses under PwD category reservation.

So if you can go for such treatments and bring your disability percentage of vision to near 40% then you can apply for NEET UG and also note that there are some other conditions for NEET UG as well which are given below :-

** You must have passed 10+2 from any recognized central/state board.

** English should also be in your curriculum of class 12th and also you should have passed in it.

** You minimum age should be more that or equal to 17 years by December 31st 2022, as per the current eligibility criteria.

** As of now there is no upper age limit for NEET but the case is pending in Hon'ble SC and by 2022 if the verdict comes then the upper age limit may be decided and it can be either 25 or as decided by SC.

Hello Shashank,
Reservation for PwD candidates in NEET:
In 15 percentage reservation of All India Quota UG seats, 3% horizontal reservation is given for Physically Handicapped candidates. Candidates with more than 40 percentage vision disability are not allowed and you can reduce it to less than 40 percentage to be eligible for NEET and then PwD reservation.
Candidates having disability 50 percentage to 70 percentage locomotor disability in lower limb. If seats are vacant then 40 percentage to 50 percentage locomotor disability of lower limbs are considered.
Minimum marks Reserved PH is 40 percentage and for Unreserved PH is 45 percentage in NEET entrance exam.
In 10+2 or equivalent exam PwD candidates must minimum have 45 percentage in Biology, Chemistry and Physics from a recognised Board or College unlike 50 percentage for General Category candidates.
So based on above said points you can avail the PwD reservation benefits in NEET.
