Yes a humanities stream student can apply for Combined Defense Service(CDS) Exam. The eligibility criteria to give CDS exam is graduation, so it doesn't matter from which college and by which subject you had done your graduation. So, even if you had done your 12 standard in humanities stream and now you are pursuing B.A. it doesn't matter.

For particularly IMA, the criteria is males with Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. So, you can appear for the exam. Good Luck for your preparations.

Yes, you will be eligible to apply for Combined Defence Service (CDS) Entrance Examination conducted by UPSC to join Indian Military Academy. But you can apply for CDS when you are in final year of Bachelor's Degree or passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized board. CDS is conducted twice in a year. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to join Indian Military Academy. The age must be in between 19 to 24 years. You must be a Citizen of India or Subject of Bhutan or Subject of Nepal or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1962, with the intention to permanently settle in India or Person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka & East African Countries with the intention to permanently settle in India. Male candidates can select to join Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy, Indian Military Academy and officers Training Academy (Men) through CDS). Female candidates are eligible only to select Officers Training Academy (Women) through CDS Entrance Examination.
