Sir, I have got 80 marks in gate 2019 EE, Expected rank is around 680, Is there any chance to get calls from psus
Hi Arun A M,
GATE 2019 for electrical engineering branch was conducted on 9 February in the after session between 14:30-17:30 hrs. In electrical engineering the total number of candiatates were around 1.25 lac.
Electrical engineering is very demanding branch because it has most number of vacancies in various Maharatna/Navratna/Miniratna PSU's and research orginasation like Bhabha Atomic Research centre(BARC), Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organization(DRDO) and many other organisations you can join scoring good marks in GATE 2019 exam.
With GATE you can also join M.E/Mtech Programme in which you can get scholaraship of Rs 12,400 per month by AICTE.The AICTE scholarship is valid for 24 months(2 years) from the date of joining the M.E/Mtech PG programme. The scholarship is granted to students on monthly basis according to the rules and regulation of University/Institution.The scholarship will not be granted to students who have already done M.E/Mtech once and they are again applying for another M.E/Mtech programme.
Coming to the validity of GATE score it is valid for 3 years for pursuing M.E/Mtech from IITs/NITs/IIITs/IISC/BITS/DTU/NSIT and other various colleges. For PSU it is valid for only 1 year from the date of exam, that means if you want get selected in PSU with GATE score of previous year then you will be not eligible to apply for any PSUs.
Now coming to the analysis of GATE 2019 electrical engineering paper, the exam was easy when compared to past 5 years gate exam and it was conducted by IIT MADRAS. But again there is relative marking so paper is easy for all the serious candidates. The expected marks of topper can be 95+ this year. Most of the students lie in the range between 80 to 90 marks, so competition is quite tough and there will be rank range from (1 to 400) in this category.
2-3 questions were tricky and total of 25 Numerical Answer Type(NAT) were of moderate level. The most weightage carrying subjects were Electrical Machines, Power System and Power Electronics.
SUBJECTS:
1) GENERAL APTITUDE: Percentage, Series, Fill in the Blanks,Sentence Completion type question. The total questions were 10(5+5)=15 marks in total.
2) ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS: Cauchy integral, rwsidue theorem, rank. The total questions were 8(4+4)=12 marks in total.
3) SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS: LTI systems, Laplace, Fourier series. The toal questions were 5(2+3)=8 marks in total.
4) ELECTROMAGNETICS: Line integral. The total question were 3(2+1)=4 marks in total.
5) ELECTRICAL MACHINES: 2 phase induction motor, DC shunt MOTOR, synchronous machines. The total questions were 9(4+5)=14 marks in total.
6) ANALOG CIRCUITS: Op-amp. The total questions were 2(0+2)=4 marks in total.
7) DIGITAL CIRCUITS: K-map, Boolean. The total questions were 2(0+2)=4 marks in total.
8) NETWORK THEORY: Millmans theorem, nodal analysis, transient. The total question were 7(4+3)=10 marks in total.
9) POWER SYSTEM: Fault analysis, alternator, transmission line parameter, switchgear and protection. The total questions were 6(2+4)=10 marks in total.
10) POWER ELECTRONICS: DC to DC converter, rectifier, inverter. The total questions were 6(3+3)=9 marks in total.
11) ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENTS: Measurement of power, error analysis, current transformer. The total questions were 3(2+1)=4 marks in total.
Total number of question = 65
Total marks = 100
Yes, definately you can get call from PSUs as your rank will lie in the range between 1 to 400. So, kindly fill the form for all the PSUs.
I hope your querie is solved.
Thank you!
Grant Medical Colleges (GMC) Mumbai and JJ Group of Hospitals admit candidates in MBBS course based on NEET Scores. The institute is amongst the 10 best medical colleges in the country. Admission to the instituteis purely based on the merit in NEET.
Every year the cut off for the college changes, however, it can be predicted by analysing the previous years cut off trends.Cutoff may vary according to the category and the domicile of the candidate.By having a close look and analyzing the cutoffs of previous years, a general category candidate has to score 550+ marks in NEET to bag a seat in GMC Mumbai.
Fooling are the cut offs::
