Sir, I have passed my 12th board exam. But now I confuse in What I do Computer Engineering or IT Engineering. Sir, Help. What good for me
Congratulations for clearing the 12th boards. Now let us come to the difference between IT (information technology) and CS (computer science). Whatever you choose should be your decision and your choice. You shouldn't come in anyone's talks and take your decision. So read the below carefully and choose.
Information technology
IT is about installing, organizing and maintaining computer systems as well as designing and operating networks.
This is all about the hardware part of the computer.
Later on for advanced posts in a company you might have to learn some computer science and basic software like Linux, Unix etc.
Computer science
It is totally about programming computers through various algorithms.
It is basically the software part.
You should have some basic IT knowledge for this.
-----
In the end, I'd say tht both these jobs pay equally high but computer science engineers get more paid because math is tough. And so are the algorithms.
But IT engineers are also in demand, infact more in Demand because people are opting CS and there is a shortage.
Good luck! I hope this helped.
Dear Aspirant,
To clear your confusion you should consider the following points:
Practically saying, the difference between two is the area of use:
Computer Engineering deals with Software + Hardware
I.T deals with Software part only.
Therefore, IT syllabus has web fundamentals, Java and other subjects and C.E doesn’t have them.
Anyhow, it hardly matters as both of them are one and the same; the two streams were made to earn money from the students just by introducing a new stream with subtle differences.
Now it totally depends on your interest, which course you want to choose.
Good luck!
Hello Dhaval,
See situations like these are very common and the best answer for this can only be given by you yourself.
See in today's world each n every thing is important and has it's own role. So it's you who have to decide it.
See CSE and IT both are good, but if somehow i suggest u one of these whereas later u may find the other one more interesting as somewhere deeo you wanted to do that.
Hence i l only suggest that take ur tym counsel urslf and see what interests you have and what you want to do. Both the courses are very good.
Good Luck
Hello dear CS is somehow different from IT. IT is one of a subdivision of CS branch.CS generally require a decent background in math while use of math in IT is limited to data analysis / processing / statistics, etc.CS offers you an opportunity to learn variety of topics related to computers. IT offers you an opportunity to discovers innovative uses of those fundamental concepts.CS takes a more balanced approach between theory and application while IT focuses more on application.
IT branch was established to compensate for the increase in demand of CS. In India, demand for B.Tech in computer science has increased exponentially over the last two decades.
But if we talk about placements then both leads sometimes to same job profles.
Hope this resolved your doubt.
Dear Aspirant,
Computer Science and Engineering(CSE) is by far the best branch of engineering. If you have a choice then always choose CSE. It is the only branch with a guaranteed job and almost all of the colleges give 100% placements to students from CSE branch in their college.
However, if you have an interest in some other branch then choose that branch, but if you do not have any prejudice and you are open to suggestions then I suggest choose CSE. Almost all of the IT students wished that they were in CSE.

Note: college matters a lot in engineers placements. Always chose top private college or NIT/IIIT/IITs.
Hope this helps.
Thank You.
Where as Information engineering, also known as Information technology engineering, information engineering methodology or data engineering, is a software engineering approach to designing and developing information systems
Go with one on which you're interested.
Feel free to comment if you have any doubt
Good luck
Hii,
Both the streams CSE and IT are very similar. After your Btech you can do only a Software Job. Compared to the Placements and Opportunities CSE is always the better one than IT. The CSE students will have more Coding Knowledge than IT students.I suggest you to Choose CSE .
