Yes for qualifying to GATE exam students must be in final year of engineering or must have graduated.
While admissions are cardied out for MTech/ME course via GATE students then have to produce course completion certificate or Provissional degree certificate to secure admission. If you are pursuing final year you are then suppossed to pass all subjects with minimum marks as required by college.
