Hello Aspirant. It seems you are aiming for admission in NITs or IITs which is brilliant. If you are a general candidate, you must secure a minimum of 75% of marks in their class 12th board exams (65% is for reserved category candidates). If you are aiming for getting admission at any branch of NITs , you must apply, and attempt JEE Main and should try to get at least 95 percentile (or above 89 percentile positively) to be on the safe side of the game.
If you are looking for getting admission at IITs then you have to crack both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. It is really difficult to predict JEE Advanced cutoff for a particular year as the ranking varies greatly in terms of difficulty of question paper. If JEE Advanced paper is easy then you need to score more than 210 to get a stream. While if the paper is marked as difficult (as in 2016), then you will have to get above 130 . To play the game safely, try to bring your rank below 8000 in JEE Advanced.
