YES, you're eligible for the Civil Services Examination through which you will be able to become an IAS officer after completing your BSc Nursing.
There are 3 stages in the Civil Services Examination :-
Stage 1 : Preliminary stage:
This is the first stage of examination which is qualifying in nature. Which means a candidate has to only qualify this stage. The marks obtained in this stage are not used to prepare the merit list. The advertisement for this stage comes in the month of February-March and exam is held in June-July. The results are out in August.
Stage 2: Mains stage:
Those candidates who qualify the first stage are allowed for this stage. Exam is held in the month of October and results come by March. The marks obtained at this stage is used to prepare the merit list.
Stage 3: Personality Test ( Interview):
The candidates who are selected after the second stage are called for the interview. The marks obtained at this stage and stage two are together used to prepare the list of candidates who are finally selected.
Exam pattern:
In stage 1 there are two papers. Both the papers are of 200 marks and are of 2 hours duration. Both papers have multiple choice questions and 1/3rd marks are deducted for every wrong answer. No marks are deducted if no answer is marked.
Paper-1 consists of questions based on current events, Indian history, world history, Indian and world geography, Indian politics, Social development, Environmental Science, Climate, General Science, Art, Culture ,etc.
Paper-2 consists of questions based on Comprehension, inter-personal skills, communication, logical reasoning, analytical abilities, decision making, problem solving, data interpretation, English language, mental ability, etc.
In stage 2:
There are total 9 papers in this stage in which two are qualifying in nature while seven are ranking in nature. The two papers which are qualifying in nature include English and one Indian language paper ( from the languages listed in the eight schedule of the constitution). Both papers carry 300 marks each.
The other papers include:
Paper 1- Essay ( 250 marks)
Paper 2- General Studies I which includes Indian heritage and culture, history and geography of the world.( 250 marks)
Paper 3- General Studies II which includes governance, constitution, polity , social justice and international relations.(250 marks)
Paper 4- General Studies III which includes technology, economic development, bio- diversity, environment, security, and disaster management.(250 marks)
Paper 5- General Studies IV which includes ethics, integrity and aptitude.(250 marks)
Paper 6 and 7- Candidate has to select two papers of his choice from a list of optional subjects. ( 250 marks for each paper)
Total-1750 marks.
Stage-3:
Personality test which consists of 275 marks.
After clearing all the three stages you will become an IAS officer.
