Hi Rishi Kant Verma,

There are 4 colleges who give a Bsc in this field in DU.

The 4 colleges are-

  • Bhaskaracharya college of applied sciences
  • Institute of home Economics
  • Shaheed rajguru college of applied sciences
  • Lady Irwin College

But in yur case as you are a boy, you have a scope of getting into only 3 of these colleges as lady irwin is an all girls college.

So I would shift my focus to the other 3 colleges.

Ideal candidates for the course would ideally possess:

  • passion for science and Math.
  • interest in food production and preparation.
  • attention to detail.
  • ability to work with strict hygiene rules.
  • excellent communication skills, for communicating with different types of people.
  • confidence for enforcing food-related rules and regulations.
  • team-working spirit.

Eligibility-

  • 10+2 education completed in the Science stream, from a recognized educational Board.
  • Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biology/ Home Science as the main subjects at the 10+2 level.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the 10+2 level.

For getting into these colleges one can apply directly to the college and you might have to face an interview and a written exam for the same.

The fees of these colleges is not more than 60,000 per annum for any of these colleges.

The placements of these colleges ids nearly about 5-9 Lakh per annum.

The top recuiters in this field are-

MTR Foods limited, Amul, Dabur India Ltd, Godrej Industrial Limited, PepsiCo India Holdings, Britannia Industries Ltd, Nestle India Pvt. Ltd., ITC Limited, Agro Tech Foods, Parle Products Pvt Ltd, Perfetti India Ltd, Hindustan Lever Limited, Cadbury India Ltd, Milkfood, Gits Food Products Pvt. Ltd., etc

The job profiles would be-

  • Food Technologists
  • Organic Chemists
  • Biochemists
  • Analytical Chemists
  • Home Economists
  • Research Scientists

Work places-

  • food manufacturing plants
  • research and development labs
  • catering companies
  • food wholesalers
  • restaurants

I hope I answerd all your queries

Cheers!!

Hey Rishi ,

I guess you want to apply for b. Tech in food technology in DU . You would be eligible for it , if you either took science in standard Xll , or you have PCM or PCB , whuch would be beneficial for you . But to acquire a seat in DU , you must have better percentage in std Xll , around 90-92 or above is the best , which would be helpful for you in acquiring a seat for you. And have a better grip in your PCM or PCB concepts .

Hope it answered your queries.

Thank you
