Hey.

As you have mentioned that you have completed BCOM and now you're seeking admission in Law through CLAT, I'd say that isn't the correct route.

Reason being that CLAT does not offer any 3 year law course. It only offers 5 year integrated law courses like Bcom LLB or BA LLB. As you have already done a UG degree which is BCOM it would not be wise to repeat one again and waste 2 years.

There are 2 types of Law courses in India- 3 year LLB course and 5 year integrated law course. 3 year law courses are for those who have completed their Undergraduation. So after completion of any 3 years of Undergraduate course, you can do LLB which will be for 3 years.

Though the eligibility criteria for CLAT is that you need to score a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in your 12th boards. But CLAT wont be a prudent option.

Hence a more suitable course of action would be to pursue a 3 year LLB course. Doing a 5 year integrated law course after completion of Bcom would lead to you wasting 2 years.

3 year LLB is provided by various good colleges and Universities. Some of the top colleges for Law and their respective entrance exams are as given below-

DU LLB- For admission in all the centres under Delhi University. DU is one of the top most colleges for 3 year LLB with great faculty, exposure as well as Placements.

SLAT- For admission in Symbiosis Law School, Pune and other campuses.

LSAT- All Private Law colleges in India like Jindal Global Law School, UPES , IIT Kharagpur etc

PU LLb- For admission in Panjab University, Chandigarh and its regional centres.

MHCET- GLC Mumbai, ILS Pune, and other law colleges in Maharashtra. These two are also one of the oldest as well as top colleges for Law in India.

BHU LLB- For admission in Banaras Hindu University

BVP LLB- For admission in Bharatiya Vidyapeeth, Pune

TS LAWCET For admission in law colleges of Tamil Nadu.

The eligibility criteria for each college is different. The minimum aggregate of marks in your under graduation degree is in a range of 45-55%. The aggregate required for reserved category is reduced. Hence if you belong to the General Category you'd be eligible only for a few colleges among this. If you belong to the Reserved category you'd be eligible for most of them.

Best of luck.
