Kerala do not conduct EAMCET. It conducts KEAM(Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) Entrance exam.
The eligibility conditions states that person with any nativity, be it from Kerala or other state can appear for the entrance exam. However, students will be placed as under Keralite or Non-Keralite depending upon their nativity.
Keralite Category:
- Candidates who hail from Kerala/Children of All India Services allocated in Kerala cadre will be considered under Keralite category. Children of All India Services, however, will not be eligible for Disabilities/fee concession/Commual Reservation.
Non-Keralite Category-I:
- Candidates who are not natives of Kerala but have completed their studies from class 8-12 from Kerala.
- Those who have qualified qualifying examination and their Non-Keralite parents are members of Government services in Kerala.
- Candidates who have successfully completed their qualifying course. Additionally, their parents must have served Government of Kerala of a minimum of 2 years.
- Candidates who are residents of Kerala but not natives and have completed at least 5 years of their study in Kerala.
Non-Keralite Category-II
- Candidates who do not meet conditions of Keralite I category are placed in it. They are considered eligible for admission via government and management seats, however, the condition is that, they will be offered seats only, if Keralite and Non-Keralite category-I are not available for admission. Also, they cannot avail any reservation criteria.
So, as you are from Andhra Pradesh and will be either placed in Non-Keralite-I and II. You can appear for KEAM even by belonging to Andhra Pradesh but your category will be different.
