Hello there
As you must be knowing that commerce is totally based upon the study of trade, finance and business activities and somehow related to the economy so for a non mathematics student it's also gets easy for them. But somehow the mathematics is related in it and a mathematics student who is good in it find it easy over upon the others.
So as you have taken standard mathematics in your class 10th so you must be knowing it very better than the students who have taken basic mathematics. And ofcourse you are eligible to take commerce in your class 11th and also you will be finding it very interesting if you are good at mathematics.
I hope it helps you!
Thank you!
Hi
Yes, with standard Maths you are eligible for taking commerce or any of the stream you want to take like Arts/humanities, science and even commerce.
In 10th cbse board, there are 2 options for maths.
----------) Standard maths :- it is for those who want to study maths after 10th like those who wants to have science with MATHS i. e PCM for 11th and 12th. Also, they are free to choose any stream like science with pcm/pcb, commerce or even arts.
----------) Basic maths :- it is for those who don't want to study maths after 10th like those who wants to science with Biology i. e PCB, commerce , arts etc in 10+2.
To help you further,
Here are the options after 10th :-
* 10+ 2 :-
You have to choose any one of science Commerce , Arts/Humanities streams.
---------)Science :-The science stream can be further divided into 3 groups depending upon the subjects one chooses
****** Non medical :- Science with PCM i.e physics, chemistry , maths group. There's no biology in PCM group.
You should basically choose this if you want to pursue engineering/architecture etc in future.
****** Medical :- Science with PCB i.e physics, chemistry biology.
You should choose PCB group if you want to get into medical field like mbbs, bds, nursing etc in future .
****** PCMB :- You can even go for science with PCMB i.e physics Chemistry Maths and Biology if you are interested in studying both Maths and Biology in your 10+2. But yes, it becomes a bit difficult to handle both biology and Maths. One advantage of choosing pcmb is after 10+2 you can go for both medical courses like MBBS, bams, nursing etc and non medical courses like engineering as well.
-----------)Commerce :- You get to study subjects like Accounts, Business studies, Economics & Maths ,Commerce etc. If you want to become a chartered accountant, company secretary, financial advisor etc in future, then commerce is for you. In commerce you acquire commercial knowledge required for business.
------------)Arts :- If you like subjects like history, polity etc then you can go for Arts. You get to study subjects like History, Geography, Literature, Political Science, economics etc. You should go for arts if you aspire to get into Journalism, literature, languages, history, psychology etc.
