Hello student,

Typically, a PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) student without Mathematics in 12th is not eligible to pursue a B.Sc. in Computer Science. Here’s why:

Key Points :

  1. Mathematics Requirement : Most universities and colleges require Mathematics as a mandatory subject in 12th grade to be eligible for B.Sc. Computer Science. This is because the course heavily relies on mathematical concepts, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques.

  2. Exceptions : Some institutions might offer B.Sc. programs in Computer Science that are more focused on practical skills and programming, where Mathematics might not be mandatory, but these are rare. Always check the specific eligibility criteria of the college or university you’re interested in.

  3. Alternative Pathways : If you are keen on entering the field of Computer Science, you could consider taking a foundational course in Mathematics to meet the eligibility or explore alternative programs like BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), which may have more flexible entry requirements.

In most cases, a PCB student without Mathematics in 12th is not eligible for B.Sc. Computer Science. If you're interested in this field, consider alternative routes like taking an additional Math course or exploring related programs like BCA.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello,

Yes, you can be eligible to pursue a B.Sc. in Computer Science without having taken mathematics in your 12th grade, but it depends on the specific university or college's admission criteria.

Here are a few points to consider:

- University Requirements: Many universities have specific prerequisites for B.Sc. Computer Science programs, and some may require a background in mathematics. Check the admission guidelines of the institutions you’re interested in.

- Entrance Exams: If the program requires an entrance exam, ensure you are comfortable with any mathematical concepts included in the syllabus.

- Mathematics Course: Some colleges may allow students without a math background to take a supplementary math course during their first year.

- Alternative Options: If you find that your preferred universities require math, consider taking an additional math course or looking into colleges that have more flexible requirements.

It’s a good idea to directly contact the admissions office of the institutions you’re interested in for the most accurate information.

Hope it helps !

Hello,

Eligibility for B.Sc. Computer Science typically requires Mathematics at the 10+2 level. As a PCB student without Maths, many universities may not consider you eligible for this course. However, some institutions offer alternative programs like B.Sc. IT or Computer Applications, which might not require Maths. Check the specific eligibility criteria of the colleges you are interested in, as requirements can vary.

Hope this helps you,

Thank you

Yes,many private institutions who let you study BCA even if you don't have mathematics at the intermediate level like CT University in Ludhiana, Punjab but most of the colleges dont accept students without maths at all.you can also do it from IGNOU but it's programme is not considered as Full time programme so it is not beneficial for future.

So, you should think to go with Computer Science only if you have a good knowledge in mathematics and do job together to have some experience which makes your profile strong later you get work on yhat basis only.

Hope you understand!
