hi dt shareeshkumar,
ICAS is a twinning program where you do the first two years at Manipal University and the remaining two at the university you get accepted in. To answer your question, ICAS is good if you have financial constraints or want to study for some time in India or one of the any reason you can't go as a freshman. I would suggest going directly as a freshman rather than through ICAS. ICAS is a really intensive program with a lot of need for hard work. You need to get 50% marks to pass(earlier it was 70%). They don't have proper fests. They are kind of secluded from the rest of the university. So it's mostly academics. You can't really experience the college life you you want to. The final degree would be of a foreign university not India. The benefit is you can save money of one year probably if they accept your credits but it depends on the university you apply. So it varies.
hope you understand!
all the best
