Hello
Yes there is negative marking in JEE Mains examination but only for multiple choice question and not for numerical value questions.
Here's small brief of JEE mains 2021 examination pattern:-
In your JEE Mains 2021 examination paper 1 , there will be a total of 90 question, out of which 75 questions are to be attempted
And these questions are from three subjects :-
* 30 questions are from physics
* 30 questions are from Chemistry
* 30 questions are from maths
The 30 questions in each Subject, will be divided into two sections -
*Section A :- A Section will contain 10 MCQs or multiple-choice questions.
* Section B :- it will contain 10 numerical value questions whose answers are to be filled in by you as a numerical value. In Section B, you have to attempt only 5 questions out of the total 10 numerical value questions .
So, out of 30 questions in each subject only 25 questions are to be attempted, so in total 25 x 3 = 75 questions out of 90 questions are to be attempted.
Each question carries 4 marks
Exam is conducted for a total of
= 75 x 4
= 300 marks
Marking scheme :-
*
four marks is awarded for your every correct answer
* 1 mark in deducted for your every wrong answer MCQs
* no marks is deducted for your wrong answer in case of numerical value question
