Sir last 2 month wht is best option self study or coaching ,CAT EXAM?? Bcoz I already join coaching they complete the entire course bt they
Hello Ashutosh,
I would say try to give maximum mocks and brush up your concepts as much as you can. Analysing the mocks is very much important as it will help you realise what mistakes have you done , while solving the problem and what was your thinking process and approach towards it.
Try to give mocks in alternatedays and analyse them and brush up your concepts on alternative days . Put your maximum effort to sail through CAT exam. Remember "Where there is a will, there's a way"
Hope your doubts are cleared. Feel free to ask more queries.
All the best for your future endeavours.
Hi Ashutosh,
With less than two months in hand for the CAT exam it will be best that you focus on self study as much as you can. Once revise all the basics and try to attempt as many mocks as possible because it would increase you speed and accuracy and also will help you in seeing you weak spots.
Hello Ashutosh,
Considering the fact that less than two months are left for CAT examination, I suggest you to focus on revision by self-study. The reason being you know your strong-weak sections and you can devote your time accordingly to the topics that require prepartion.
But at the same time, attend all the mock examinations conducted by the coachinng institute. Analyse the solutions for every mock, specifically solve those questions which you were not able to or were difficulty to you during mock.
If you follow this procedure, you will be able to cover maximum of the topics in the time left.
Good Luck.
Hi Ashutosh,
I think you should go for combination of both. You must be having a schedule of which topics would be discussed in revision classes. If you are strong enough in the topic being discussed that you think there is no need to attend those classes, then you can skip that class as it saves your time. But for topics or sections you feel you are not comfortable with you should go and attend class to clear your doubts. It will give you a perspective of how to approach a particular problem.
Since only 2 months are left I would suggest you to give some mock test to know your weak and strong sections/topics and based on that you should attend the revision classes.
The above time management would make you comfortable in your weak sections and you would be better prepared for the exam.
All the best
Hello Ashutosh,
As you have already joined a coaching center and they are providing revision classes, you can attend their classes to get a brief on the topics for CAT. Since there are only 2 months remaining for CAT exam, it is equally important for you to gear up your self preparation as well. Get a hold of the syllabus and short cuts required from the coaching center and practice questions by yourself. If you had not been preparing continuously, it might be difficult to crack CAT with a preparation of 2 months. Nevertheless, there is no harm in giving it a try.
You can consider this attempt as a benchmark and work towards a better score from here in the coming year. It is always important to set a benchmark before you start working towards a goal. This will give you clarity on your goal and help you set clear plans.
Since time is less, I suggest you attempt mock tests as well when you have the time. If your institute provides mocks, go ahead with them. If not, AIMCAT by TIME are suggested as quality mock tests. You can enroll for the mock tests alone to get a practice.
Again, go for all of this only if you have done adequate preparation from your end as well. If you feel you are underprepared, i suggest you try the exam this year as a benchmark and work hard to crack it next year. All the best to you! :)
Best Wishes,
Anjali

Last 2-3 months are critical, this is where it is decided whether you get into a top bschool or not. Everyone finishes the courses and does revision and all that stuff. That is the need.
But IIms and other Bschools demand something better. So for that you need to give a lot of mocks and not just from one institute but others too of different levels.
Cat is not only about knowing things its also about executing what you know in the best way possible.
So start giving mocks get comfortable with a tick-tock on your head while you solve questions and start formulating your best section wise strategy. Stay at home for 2-3 days and work on it, if you feel that you're not giving your 100% start going for the coaching classes again.
Before going for Cat you must be done with atleast 30 full 3 hour mocks if you are done with the syllabus. If youre not done with it revise and do it, and atleast take 20 mocks, below that its either luck or pure talent that someone might be born with.
You should exactly know which questions to attempt and which to leave. You should be able to differentiate and identify which questions work for you. And which dont.
If youre 98% sure about a question leave it in the exam it wont do any good. Count on 100% surity only!! Imagine you getting 20 questions right in a section and doing 10 wrong getting score 50 instead of 60. You just missed top 3 IIMs for this.
After the test analyse what went wrong where you need to workout and what are your key strengths and weaknesses. Focus on seconds per answer taken by you, the difficulty of questions you attempted, and see national average of time for the same and how much do you differ from it. Every stat matters it shows what you need to work on.
And dont worry about your mock scores they are not real cat scores. Just keep giving them.
Work hard finish up everything, give mocks refine and redefine. These last 2 months will be tough frustrating and hectic but they will decide your future so dont give up.
All the Best.

Hi Ashutosh,
It's the ideal time to start solving mock test papers at least twice a weak. Make sure that you analyse your performance in every mock test with the help of your mentors or teachers at the coaching centre. It will allow you to check your weak and strong topics/subjects. To improve in the subjects you are lacking, solve sectional tests and analyse. And keep improving your strong areas by practising. Do not panic and gradually increase the frequency of the mock tests as you move towards the actual exam. Here is the complete 2-month strategy for CAT 2018 - How to prepare for CAT 2018 in 2 months
Good luck.
