MBBS is Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery and it is the term that is used for those students who are pursuing the five year degree programme in medicine.

These are the necessary eligibility requirements that the students must follow to obtain MBBS admission:

  • The minimum marks criteria may differ, although, in the intermediate test, general applicants should have scored at least 50 per cent marks.

  • The minimum age requirement is 17 years to register for the MBBS programme.

  • Applicants will have to pass the entrance examination needed for admissions.

  • Applicants should have done at least 10 + 2 with mandatory subjects Physics , Chemistry and Biology .

  • The minimum percentage for eligible candidates to the reserved category is 40 per cent.

  • The maximum age restriction for applying for MBBS program is 25 years

The various methods by which candidates may become admitted to this degree are described below.

Entrance exams : The most common method for approving candidates is an entrance examination used by colleges and universities. Aspiring students sit for different entrance exams to earn a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS or MBBS) degree.

Merit-based: There are colleges and universities in these courses which offer candidates admissions based on the marks achieved in 10 + 2. The eligibility criteria based on competencies gained in 10 + 2.


NEET-UG (National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Exam for Undergraduate Courses) is the criteria for enrollment to the MBBS degree. NEET-UG is the common all-India entry-level foundation for admissions amongst all medical universities and colleges all around the world.

The basic requirement for MBBS admission and entrance exam in India is Class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks. The students must have studied Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects in Class 12. The lower age limit for MBBS admission and entrance exam in India is 17 years while the upper age limit is 25 years.
After giving neet exam.. as below
Last year, NEET cutoff scores for the general category were 720-147, while for SC/ST/OBC it was 146-113. NEET-UG exam was held on September 12, 2021.

Hey there

For taking admission in Bachelor of Business and Surgery course, the candidate is required to qualify NEET. There is only one exam and that is NEET for MBBS course admissions. The candidate as to complete his 12th class with physics chemistry and Biology for being eligible for the MBBS course and NEET.
