sir ,me a commerce student it is difficult for me to get through quantitative ability how I prepare from basics or something else?
Make sure you solve all problems wherever you're weak and needs focus.
Try to give more mock exams on weak areas and simultaneously revise your strong areas to score well.
Always jot down your mistakes and make sure you dont repeatedly repeat them, try to solve past 5 year papers to gain fair understanding of paper patteen and question quality.
Give mock tests as much as you can. That will help you plan your time and show areas where you are weak in. Concentrate more on those areas and try to solve as many questions you can on those topics. Practice is the key.
Another thing you can do is look for simpler and faster ways to solve questions. After you solve a set of questions check how many you got correct and then check the solutions given for them. Sometime you might find an easier and faster way to solve questions in the solution.
Practice a lot and you will do well. All the best!
Focusing on the preparation:
The first step is to check if your basic fundamentals of Maths is clear. Most of the students should be ok with their basic fundamentals. It just involves knowing basic aspects like Profit and loss, Averages, Speed, Pythagoras theorem, etc. If you feel if you do not know any of the areas, you can go back to the school books and revise them.
Without knowing the basics, you will eventually get lost in the complexity of the advanced questions. Also, a number of questions in the exams are based directly on simple and basic concepts. Therefore, knowing the basics is the foundation of a good score in the quant section.
Here is a list of topics, to get you started: Number Systems, Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry.
Quant (or math) problems basically involve the application of one or more logical concepts, to a problem. Therefore, employing logic to any problem usually gets you the answer. However, there are questions that are directly based on formulas and can be solved without any logic involved. And it is absolutely fine if you solve it solely using formulas.
Make sure that you do not leave out any topic/section. Focus on your weak areas. Do not keep them as topics that you have half-knowledge on. Work on your weak areas by practicing different problems and analyzing your errors. You need not be an expert on the topic. You just need to know, how to handle your weak areas, when you come across them in the exam.
Good Luck..
